The 6th-grade class participated in the NASA Techrise virtual event today to see if they were selected for any of their proposed experiments. Although no teams were selected they all gained valuable experience in teamwork, collaboration, experimenting, and conducting proposals. They did an outstanding job and we are very proud of the entire class.

The TMP-Marian Solar Power Team, sponsored by MW Energy, is preparing for the statewide solar energy competition in February in Topeka. The team has been designing and building a solar power system that maximizes efficiency and usability.
As part of the design process, the students learn about different aspects of electrical production, such as how much energy is converted to heat versus light. Snacking on some lab-made 'smores (pictured) isn't a bad way to have some fun along the way!
The team is made up of sophomore Zechariah Dickman, junior Sam Schroeder, freshman Mattias Marintzer, and freshman Sam Krannawitter. The team is led by physics teacher Isaac Dennis.
TMP-Marian brainpower brings good into the world in many ways!

Ready for Christmas?
You may think getting ready for Christmas is decorating, baking, and buying gifts. While that is true, the most important preparation for Christmas is the one done in our hearts and minds.
At TMP-Marian our students seem to be ready for Christmas in the most important way. During fall semester, 509 confessions were heard during Friday Adoration and an additional 45 were heard at the HS retreat on Nov. 21.
May all our hearts be opened and ready to receive our King, our divine Monarch, this Christmas season!
Host families urgently needed for kids coming Jan. 6!
Last day of 2nd Quarter Personal Finance-students received $1,000,000,000.50......in chocolate! Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
TMP-Marian acquitted itself well in the very competitive Manhattan Open at Kansas State University on Saturday.
The big experiment came when TMP-M entered seven players in an adult tournament, the Reserve Section for players rated under 1400. Congratulations to Blaise Staab (pictured), who scored three wins and one loss to take 2nd and 1st Scholastic Player in that section.
The rest of the Junior High players played in a combined Junior High/High School division at standard scholastic rules. Congratulations to Caden Pinkney, who placed 1st among Junior High players with a score of three wins and two losses.
Congratulations also to James Dickman, who placed 3rd in the same section with a score of 2 wins and three losses.
Our next action will be at the Kansas Scholastic Chess Association's Grade Level Championship at Hutchinson on January 13. In this event, players will only compete against others in the same academic grade level.
