Ian Lenser ’18 Eagle Scout Project: TMP-Marian Grotto Stations of the Cross
Hello, My name is Ian Lenser, and I am a Boy Scout with Troop 101 in Hays. I am working to attain the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout. In order to achieve this rank one must perform a leadership project that benefits the community.
My project is to build walking stations of the cross in the Thomas More Prep Marian grotto. Each station will be an etched granite stone cemented into the ground running along each side of the pathway leading to the grotto with seven stones on each side. Christian Lutz at Schmidt Monument Works has agreed to guide me through the creation of the stones.
Before I begin to place orders for the stones and other supplies, I need to raise funds. The entire project is going to cost approximately $1,250. The left over money I acquire from the fundraising will be put towards future eagle scout projects in my troop. I plan to carry out this task towards the end of the school year leading into the summer. I have put months of planning into this and can not wait until I am finally able to carry the project out.
Please consider donating to my project. I look forward to sharing news of its completion. Thank you for your support! Donations can be made out to Troop 101 and can be turned into the TMP-Marian front office on the main floor.
