New Faculty Announcement and Changing Staff Roles

The 2017-18 school year will see a few new faces on the TMP-Marian faculty. Previously, it was announced that Shawn Denton will be the new instructor of senior English. Denton will be taking over for Heather Sramek who announced she was taking a position in the Kansas City area at the end of this school year. Sramek also served as English Department Head. Those duties will be reassigned to Joe Hertel upon Sramek’s departure at the conclusion of the year.

The freshman and sophomore students will also have a new instructor for English; although she is no stranger to our school. Latisha Haag will be rejoining the faculty after a twelve-year absence. Haag taught English at TMP-Marian from 2000 to 2005. Since that time she has spent time at Holy Family Elementary, St. Mary’s of Ellis, and as an adjunct professor in the Communication Studies Department of Fort Hays State University. Haag has a B.S. in Education from Kansas Newman and a M.S. in Communications from Fort Hays State University.

Current government, history, current events instructor and scholars’ bowl coach Don Hageman will be retiring after twelve years at TMP-Marian. We will miss his sense of humor and love of teaching. His classes will be taken by Mr. Luke Lundmark, who will be joining the Monarch Faculty this summer. Lundmark currently teaches social studies and coaches in Independence, Mo. His additional prior experience is as a teacher in San Diego, Calif. and Liberty Charter High School in Lemon Grove, Calif. Lundmark has a B.A. in Religion and is credentialed for 6-12 social science teacher through the University of San Diego. Additionally, Lundmark has a M.S. in Educational Leadership and has served on a myriad of school and district leadership teams and committees.

Lastly, current Business Director Tom Meagher will assume the role of Assistant Principal for Student Affairs and Instruction, and a new business director will be added to oversee the day-to-day finances of TMP-Marian.
