Military Appreciation

The 3rd Annual Military Appreciation kicked off with a dinner on Thursday, October 19, for the players and SJMA Cadets.  Each player was presented a special jersey to display an authentic SJMA Cadet Logo.  Some jerseys were handed out from grandpa to grandson and uncle to nephew, adding a nostalgic familial atmosphere.  Dinner was prepared and donated by Chris and Dana Schumacher of Shorty’s BBQ.

The football pre-game on Friday, October 20, was patriotic perfection.  Each player from TMP-Marian and Russell wielded a flag, donated for our use by the Kiwanis Club of Hays.  The players stormed the field to James Brown’s “Living in America.”  The Patriot Guard from the American Legion rode the perimeter of the field and started the festivities off with a rumble.  The V.F.W. Post #9076 Honor Guard presented the colors. The half-time presentation featured a medley of our branches of military played by the TMP-Marian Band.  Former and current military service men and women were invited onto the field to step forward and be recognized for their service to this country.

Prior to kickoff, fans were treated tail-gate provided by Amanda Cauley of Soul-Full Creations.

TMP-Marian beat the Russell, Broncos, by a score of 46-6.
