Kansas Academy of Science 2018
Abby Peeler, Sophomore, presented a poster at the Kansas Academy of Science 2018 Conference. Since Peeler is wanting to pursue a professional career in medicine, her research project focused on a health-related issue. Furthermore, Peeler attended talks and other poster sessions that were held during the day. She also interacted with college students and professors from Kansas Universities across the state.
This meeting is a state-wide scientific conference where college students present their research. Therefore, it is rare to have a high school student present at a meeting of this level. This is a fine example of the college preparatory academics being taught at TMP-Marian. “Abby did a terrific job explaining her research and I received many compliments on her maturity and knowledge at such a young age. Most people thought she was a college senior!” stated Ms. Maricle, Biology Instructor.
Peeler previously presented this same research at the FHSU Science Fair and won a Gold Medal for her efforts. What a fabulous representation of TMP-Marian!
