Classroom Snapshot : Trigonometry

Mr. Befort’s Trigonometry Class worked on functions and identities.  Trigonometry is commonly used in oceanography in calculating the height of tides in oceans. The sine and cosine functions are fundamental to the theory of periodic functions, those that describe the sound and light waves. Trigonometry also aides in satellite operations. In addition, trigonometry is of particular value to the technique of triangulation, which is used in astronomy to measure the distances to nearby stars. Many valuable uses in today’s mathematical world.
