Classroom Snapshot : Spanish
Mrs. Pinkney’s Spanish students have been busy in the classroom. Students learned September 16, is Mexico’s Independence Day, not Cinco de Mayo, which is commonly assumed. For this occasion, students in Spanish class learned how to make corn tortillas. From the mixing of the dough, to the pressing and flipping. All different types of salsa were sampled along with their tortillas. This month the Spanish classes are doing different activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Spanish III, IV and 8th Grade took part in painting the flags of Spanish speaking countries on pumpkins. In addition, students will take a Zumba class with Gail from the Hays Rec.
