Alumni and Friends Gift their Time and Talent

When the new parking lot east of Al Billinger Field House was constructed, a significant amount of dirt was deposited north of the new lot by the scrapers creating the grade. Those large piles of dirt are being relocated to the southwest of Cripplegate Field to extend the practice field to the west towards the draw. This project is being done through the generous stewardship of our alumni and friends.

Clem Karlin ’70 donated his time and use of his equipment as well as orchestrated the move. Keith Werth of K-C Trucking also provided equipment. Karlin was assisted by volunteers Randy Werth ’80, Steve Boggs, Jerry Oborney, and John Ostrom. Warren Kippes ’77 of Home Oil Co. donated the diesel to keep the equipment moving.

We are extremely grateful for stewardship in all its forms. Often times we think monetary gifts are the only option, but gifts of time and talent, as illustrated by these volunteers, help keep costs down by providing valuable services for which we would otherwise have to fund. If you see these gentlemen, please thank them for their help in making our campus a better place for our students.
