Attention:  High School Juniors – Apply NOW

Deadline for Fall 2018 Applications is April 30, 2018!

Announcing the 2018-19 Nex-Generation Work Study/Apprentice Scholarship Program forincoming high school seniors and college students.  This program enables students to work at a local business for an hour or more each day during the school year.  All details are attached on the Work Study Student Application & Program Overview.  One catch:  the turnaround time is very short!  Applications are due April 30 for the fall semester. Each student selected will be eligible for a $500 scholarship per semester, for up to two, consecutive semesters during the 2018-19 academic year.

Newman Investigative Summer Science Program

Every year Newman hosts ISSP, our Investigative Summer Science Program! This residential summer program takes place June 18-29 this year. The full two weeks of living, eating, field trips, classes, speakers and even two college credits is all included in the $325 per person fee!  Applicants must currently be high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA to apply and submit an application, transcripts and short essay by May 4.

KU School of Pharmacy Summer Camp

The University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy is offering four two-day camps for students to learn more about the pharmacy profession and to get a taste of what pharmacy school is like at the KU School of Pharmacy summer camp.  The camps are open to high school students entering their junior or senior year or college students beginning their freshman year in the fall.  Further information can be found at the following link:

American Legion Boys State of Kansas Leadership Academy 

The 81st session of the American Legion Boys State of Kansas Leadership Academy will be held on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan from Sunday, June 3 through Friday, June 8, 2018. In order to apply for the 2018 Session of Kansas Boys State you must be a male, currently in your Junior year of high school during the 2017-18 school year (with at least one semester remaining next fall), be in the top half of your class, and be involved in extra curricular activities in your school and community. Application deadline is March 31.Delegates may register online at:

ACT and SAT Prep There are ACT and SAT prep booklets available in the Advising Office for all interested students.  Please drop by the office if you want one.

ACT Financial Aid Families who qualify for federal assistance programs (e.g., free and reduced lunch) are eligible to receive an application fee waiver for the ACT test.  Please contact the Advising Office if interested.

College Fee Waiver If you qualify for a federal assistance program, you may be eligible to have application fees for college admittance waived.  Please contact the Advising Office for more information.
